Michigan Tech Civil Engineering Student Represents at MDOT Hosted Challenge

On September 10, MDOT hosted a magnetic levitation car design and build challenge. Three student teams from the Detroit Institute of Technology at Cody High School competed again a professional team consisting of staff from MDOT, Parsons Brinkerhoff, and Somat Engineering, and a college team consisting of representation from Michigan Technological University, Western Michigan University, and Lawrence Technological University (pictured below). Teams were provided foam blocks, magnetic tape, and a battery operated fan and asked to design the fastest fan propelled magnetic levitation car. The professional team was able to use their combined experience to win at the checked flag!
